Sharing yoga and mindfulness is a deep and profound calling of mine. I have experienced changes in the way I view and interact with the world because of my mindfulness and yoga practices. The process of living through a mindfulness lens isn’t always perfect but it provides me with support to work through emotional and mental challenges with awareness, presence, compassion and accountability.

I have been practicing and teaching yoga for almost 30 years. I came to the practice at a difficult time in my life and found a way to calm anxiety and decrease emotional suffering for myself. Yoga has been a constant support for nearly every situation life brings.

I began teaching yoga to my art students at a therapeutic school for children with the emotional challenges, many who had been abused and neglected. This experience lead me to I study to become a certified yoga teacher with Sonia Sumar, founder and creator of Yoga for All Abilities. This training led me to a private practice teaching children and adults with physical and developmental disabilities.

I have built a long resume of experiences and trainings including 200hr Swallowtail Yoga Teacher Training , Integral Yoga Prenatal Teacher training, Yoga Ed and Get Ready to Learn yoga. I have taught infants through elders, individuals with eating disorders, adults with intellectual disabilities and many more.

For the past 20 years I have had the great honor to serve pregnant and new parents. As a parent, serving new mothers through the process of birth and motherhood is also close to my heart. I am certified in prenatal and postpartum yoga and am also a certified labor support and postpartum doula. Which is the impetus for Birthing Presence.

To better support the mental and emotional challenges of parenting, I began taking multiple meditation and conscious parenting courses with Dr Shefali. I became certified as a facilitator in neuroscience based stress reduction technique called The Feel Good Life Methodology. Additionally I completed a nine month training in Mindful Birthing Childbirth and Parenting Education and offer this comprehensive class a few times a year.

In my yoga classes you will experience a deeply mindful practice. Whether it is a strong or a restorative practice you will be guided and supported to discover your own inner teacher with joy and compassion.

As a doula client you can expect a calming nonjudgmental presence to support your preferences and needs during pregnancy, labor and postpartum.

I am excited to offer no cost doula services to MassHealth clients! See if you qualify.
